Light Wave Stimulation Therapy (LWS)

LWS therapy addresses light processing deficiencies which often seem to correlate with various learning, behavioural, reading and social difficulties. Light processing difficulties may have profound effects on physical and emotional well-being.

The light equipment used in clinic was designed by John Downing OD, PhD in vision science. With over 30 years experience in the field of light and 20 years of research and clinical observations in the study of nurosensery stimulation found enormously successful results in the following areas; concentration, memory, reading, anxiety, creativity, stress reduction, self-esteem, hyperactivity, chronic fatigue and chronic pain syndromes.

The literature on coloured light indicates both the importance of light for the functioning of the body and its usefulness for psychological and emotional healing and light has a long history of therapeutic use. The more modern pioneers include Edwin Babbit, Auguste Rollier, Niels Finsen (Nobel Prize winner), Dinshah Ghadiali, Harry Riley Spitler, John Downing and Jacob Liberman.

It has been found that constricted visual fields of awareness are related to inadequate functional visual abilities and overall learning and performance deficits.

Striking changes in quality of test results, symptom reductions, performance, behaviour and mood can occur as a result of Lightwave Stimulation (LWS).

The light therapy is individually tailored to target any difficulties identified in the assessment process.

20 therapy sessions take place over 10 days.

Improvements are often seen within the treatment period and further long lasting results are expected within 3 to 6 months.

At Centre Senses we recommend treatment is taken for 5 days, 2 days break then a further 5 days. However if you would prefer to undertake therapy over 10 consecutive days (due to i.e travel, work or family) please let us know so we may accommodate this.
